3 STEP CHAT APP INSTALLATION GUIDE

STEP 1  Update to the latest Skype & Install our Application Instructions  |  Watch Video

STEP 1 - Be sure you have the Latest Version of Skype and Install our Application

  • If you have the latest version of Skype and have installed our software SKIP TO STEP 2 if not see below:
  • Make sure you have the latest version of Skype by clicking on the Skype icon, click help and check for updates
  • Once you are sure you have the latest Skype version proceed to the next line
  • Download the Protech Chat App from here & do the following:
  • Save the file or hit the run button
  • Once you click run then button a Microsoft security screen may come up then click run
  • On welcome screen click next to continue
  • Review the license agreement click "I Agree"
  • On the Choose components make your selections & click next
  • On the installation locations click next
  • Choose start menu folder click install
  • To close the setup wizard click finish


 

STEP 2 - Open Native Skype and Allow Access   as shown below:

 

STEP 3 - Your top Contacts are added as permanent tabs as seen in the photo below. If both Icons are Green then you are ready to use our App! If either one is Gray then do this:

  • Check to see if you have an internet connection
  • Check to be sure that you completed Step 2 and "allowed access" in Native Skype
  • Our software should not take more than 1 minute to install.

Skype Icon is Gray not Green - If the Icon in our Toolbar is Gray and NOT GREEN  check to be sure you have an internet connection and follow these instructions to be sure you allowed our app to use Skype:
 
  1. Click on the Skype Icon in the System Tray
  2. Click on the Tools menu
  3. Click on Options
  4. Click on advanced
  5. Click on "Manage other programs access to Skype" at the page bottom
  6. Choose "Protech Chat Bar.exe" and make sure it is set to "allowed to use Skype"
